This document is intended to describe the technology, concepts and operating theory behind the Scale Computing Intelligent Clustered Operating System (ICOS™) that powers all Scale Computing storage clusters. It is assumed that the reader is already familiar with the basic features and benefits of ICOS-based clusters and high-level components of an ICOS cluster (nodes, drives, network switches, etc.).
