Steve's company needs storage for a virtualization project, but has a tight budget. He was approached by a company's sales rep hawking "unified" storage as the "next best thing" for small to medium-sized companies.

The problem is that the sales rep worked for a large company that didn't serve SMEs, like Steve's. By purchasing the whiz-bang solution from the sales rep,  Steve couldn't scale performance and was soon left with a big problem…
